What are the four routes to for work to residency?

There are 4 possible routes that may see you qualify for the work to residency programme and these all have differing criteria. There is two stages in the working towards residency:
The 4 temporary work visa options that can be utilised in working towards residency are:
1. Accredited Employers
Applicants may qualify for this temporary work visa in the event:
* That they have skills required by a New Zealand employer
* Who has been accredited by New Zealand Immigration Services to hire workers from overseas
* The applicant will need to have a job offer and be under the age of 55. However if you seek permanent residency, under the work towards residency scheme, this is in effect lowered to 53 due to the 2 year qualifying period. It is a pre requisite that the applicant is of course suitability qualified and experienced to carry out the role and that the salary must be a minimum of NZ$ 55,000.
* Further the position you are offered must be of a full time nature and for at least 24 months.
2. Talent (Arts, Culture and Sports)
Designed for applicants with an exceptional ability in the arts, culture or sports fields. To obtain the temporary work visa the applicant will need to demonstrate:
* That their ability results in a positive contribute to the development of their specific field in New Zealand
* They are aged under 55. However if you seek permanent residency, under the work towards residency scheme, this is in effect lowered to 53 due to the 2 year qualifying period
* They either have a job offer is or your occupation must be one that is in demand from New Zealand employers
* That they are prominent in their field of talent have sponsorship from a nationally recognised New Zealand institution
3. Long Term Skill Shortage List Work Policy
To qualify for the temporary work visa and subsequently work towards residency, the applicant needs to have:
* Secured a job offer with an occupation listed on the long term skill shortage list
* Be under 55. However if you seek permanent residency, under the work towards residency scheme, this is in effect lowered to 53 due to the 2 year qualifying period
* A job offer is not required but your occupation must be one that is in demand from New Zealand employers
* If applicable, a position (you are offered) of a full time nature and for at least 24 months
4. Religious workers
To qualify for a religious workers visa you will need to have:
* An acceptable sponsor
* Be under 55 years of age. However if you seek permanent residency, under the work towards residency scheme, this is in effect lowered to 53 due to the 2 year qualifying period
